When adding a new HOL record field 852 $$h is automatically filled with XX. Why does this happen and how can it be avoided?

Answer

Field content that is provided automatically when adding a new record is taken from the default template. The default template can be found in Metadata Editor, template list and has "(Default)" behind the name. In above example the default template for HOL records has field 852 $$h prefilled with "XX". Update the default template in order to avoid this.
