    Problem Symptoms:

I defined a grace period of "1 Days" for returned items. However, it is never applied.
The due date is, for example, January 15, 23:59. When items are returned on January 16, they are always fined and the grace period is ignored.

    Cause:

When you define grace period with units of Days, you need to take into consideration that the first day is the day of the due date.
So if the due date is at the end of the day (library close hour) and you have 1 day grace, you won't have any grace.

    Resolution:

In the situation described here, you need to use 2 Days grace in order to achieve what you want. Alternatively you can change the unit from "Days" to "Exact days".
