    How to add additional item to PO Line after order is sent

    Question

    Sometimes when an item we ordered arrives at the library, it includes additional material (e.g. a DVD or a workbook) that needs to be cataloged and associated with the original order. What is the best way to do this?

    Answer

    If the additional items needs to be cataloged separately, do that as you would normally (create a bibliographic record and assign and holding if necessary), and then create the item record. In the Physical Item Editor, navigate to the PO Line field and enter the PO Line number or search for the relevant order.

    This will associate the new item with the original PO Line. There is no need to create additional order lines or delete and recreate the original.
