    Question

Is Dedup Required in Primo/Alma for Physical and Electronic (print and online) records?

    Answer

Alma does not require deduplication – delivery will work in any case.

We recommend deduplicating on MMS ID in order to cover the cases in which E and P inventory is cataloged under the same bib.

(Such records are published twice – as IE (Inventory Entity) of type E and as IE of type P. In order to present them as one, we deduplicate on MMS ID).
