    Description

The maximum fine defined in the terms of use can be exceeded when an item is renewed. Is this a bug?

    Resolution

This is working as designed as the renewed loan is considered a separate loan transaction.

Example: You define a maximum fine of 6 €. Now the item becomes overdue, the fine increases up to 6 €, then stops to increase. The user renews the item. The renewed loan is considered a separate loan transaction, so the maximum fine is reset. If the item becomes overdue again, the fine increases up to 12 €, then stops to increase. And so on.
