    Question

We have automatic renewals configured to be performed two days before the due date (parameter auto_renew_loan_days).
An item is due on Friday, and today is Wednesday. But after running the job "Notifications - Send Courtesy Notices and Handle Loan Renewals" this loan is not renewed. Why is that?

    Answer

You need to consider the due time! If the item is due on Friday at 23:59, and you run the job on Wednesday at 11 am, the item will not be considered eligible for automatic renewal.
Two days means 48 hours. If you want to include all items of the weekday two days before the due date, you might want to change the parameter auto_renew_loan_days to "3".
