    1. What is happening to the URL linking syntax of databases Essential Science Indicators (ESI) and Journal Citation Reports?

What is happening to the URL linking syntax of databases Essential Science Indicators (ESI) and Journal Citation Reports?

The provider Clarivate Analytics has changed the database linking syntax for Essential Science Indicators (ESI), database code BNS and Journal Citation Reports, database code CKZ.

The old database-level URLs are broken. Therefore, we will be changing the database level URLs for both databases in the Knowledgebase immediately. Both are zero-title databases.

This change will take effect on January 12, 2017:

    • Before January 12, 2017:

    Essential Science Indicators (ESI) http://webofknowledge.com/ESI

    Journal Citation Reports http://webofknowledge.com/JCR

    After January 12, 2017:

    Essential Science Indicators (ESI) https://esi.incites.thomsonreuters.com

    Journal Citation Reports https://jcr.incites.thomsonreuters.com/

Actions you may need to take:

    • Make sure that either https://esi.incites.thomsonreuters.com or *thomsonreuters.com is included in your proxy configuration before January 12, 2017.
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after January 12, 2017.
