What is happening to the database InfoSci databases?

Certain InfoSci databases from the provider IGI Global are no longer being updated because IGI Global has changed how they sell their collections. They have moved from subject based collections to subject based collections by copyright year.

In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on the Knowledgebase collection policy), all titles will be removed from these following databases in the Knowledgebase on August 25th 2017. These databases will become a zero-titles databases and will be hidden, with no new subscriptions possible.  Therefore, we have created a new database in the Knowledgebase and titles are now available. The attached spreadsheet below will list the databases being removed and the new databases taking their place:

    InfoSciBooks_CollectionMigration.xlsx

This change will take effect on August 25th, 2017.

The A-Z list database InfoSci-Books (Database Code KCM) will remain and continue to be supported.

    Action you need to take:

    • Update the holdings in your Intota or Client Center profile by subscribing to the new database instead of the old database.  For information on how to update your profile, and considerations prior to removing the old database from your profile:
      • Intota users click here.
      • Client Center users click here.
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs or database specific information to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after August 25.
