An Open Access indication can be found in Alma community zone bibliographic records when a 506 field has the following information:

506 0_ $f Unrestricted online access $2 star

Currently, this indication is only automatically added to bibliographic records that are linked to a Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) portfolios.

The Open Access is not added   automatically for e-books in Open Access collections at this stage due to a fact that in many cases only few chapters of an e-book are in Open Access, thus, if automatic indication for all the records in the collection will be added, it will create disinformation for our customers.Therefore, in order to present only reliable information about Open Access, it was decided not to add Open Access indication automatically for all the Open Access e-books collections.
