Portfolios deletion due to transition to daily updates

As part of the Data Excellence initiative, we are gradually transitioning collections to a daily updates process.

During this process, we came across duplicated portfolios in JSTOR, Cambridge, Proquest eBook Central, Walter De Gruyter, Elsevier collections and EBSCOhost Ebooks.

Meaning some of these providers’ collections had two portfolios with the same data for one Bib record.

As part of the transition to daily updates, one portfolio was chosen to reflect the linking and coverage information.

The second redundant portfolio has been removed.

Collections that have been configured with "Automatically Activate New Portfolios" will retain one active portfolio.

This cleanup process will ensure that collections retain the most up-to-date linking and threshold information, which will best represent the Bib record.

Moving forward, our next providers to move to daily updates are VLebooks and Taylor and Francis ebooks.

We are confident that the benefits of daily updates will be a major improvement for your workflows.
