What is happening with the KB API for new collections?

The KB+ API was set up to automatically add new collections that had existing corresponding collections in previous years.
Currently, Ex Libris is moving the metadata processes to a new advanced tool which will provide a robust mechanism to process and ingest metadata from providers.

During the transition for KB+ collections, the API was down and we were not able to harvest new files automatically.
Any new KB+ collections have been added manually.

Please note that any additions, edits or deletions from KB+ for existing collections continue to be automatically processed.

The transition has ended mid-June 2023, however the API was not reinstated in full due to technical reasons, and the interface for the collections is now KB+ instead of the providers' interface.

Meaning, the API currently harvests new collections that had existing corresponding collections in previous years, but it cannot create new collections for some of the new collections added to KB+.

Currently, until we fully reinstate the functionality of the API, KB+ collections are being added manually as well as automatically whenever the API is capable of creating such new collections.

We have allocated a designated analyst to review the new KB+ collections, and we are in contact with JISC to explore other options for the upcoming new platform.

We apologize for the inconvenience, please inform us of missing new KB+ collections, by posting in Idea Exchange.
