Global Professional Services is pleased to announce a new virtual, instructor-led training offering, Premium Workshops. These interactive, small-group workshops are designed to provide a personalized experience with a significant practical hands-on component. Each 2-hour workshop will cover a specific topic and will constitute a combination of lecture and hands-on practical exercises. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and sBadge_Premium Workshops.pnghare their screens. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 12 attendees to enable active participation.

We are also happy to work with you if you would like to schedule training for a group at your organization, don’t see the topic you would like to cover, or would like to request a workshop be delivered in another language. Our standard training offerings can be found on our Consulting Services page, and you may contact premium.services@clarivate.com with questions or for a custom training quote.

Foundations: Alma Fulfillment and User Management Workshop
Instructor: Jenny Draeger

This workshop will provide an overview of two Alma subject areas: Fulfillment Configuration and User Management.

We Will Cover:

  • Creating and using Fulfillment Units and Terms of Use
  • Troubleshooting techniques using the Fulfillment Configuration Utility
  • Creating various types of users
  • Editing and updating a user's identifying information and roles
  • Creating patron limits and blocks
  • Customizing the user's experience in your Discovery system

Alma Analytics: Basics Workshop
Instructor: Yoel Kortick

This workshop will provide an overview of understanding and using Alma Analytics for beginners.  We will provide a full review of the features and functionality of Alma Analytics.  

We will start with an overview of what Alma Analytics is, what data it contains, how “out of the box” reports can be used, and how to create customized reports. 

Reports and analytics objects will be made on the live environment (the sandbox does not contain Alma Analytics, and in any case, Analytics is a “read only” function and thus does not change any existing data). 

We Will Cover:

  • Accessing Alma Analytics as a designer (staff user who can create and edit reports)
  • Making reports available for the consumer (staff user who can only view reports)
  • The directory structure of the Alma Analytics folders
  • Creating basic reports

Learning Outcomes:

  • Be able to create a variety of reports with different visualizations to inform library staff about library data and activities
  • Understand the relationship between the analytics designer and the analytics consumer to provide data to the library staff users

Configure SUSHI Harvesting and Loading COUNTER Data Workshop

Does your library want to automate its electronic resource usage statistics tracking? Alma can ingest and report on the statistics information supplied by content providers in COUNTER format. Participants will leave the session with a configured SUSHI account and an understanding of working with COUNTER files.​​​​​​

  • Common issues and data loading troubleshooting tips

Troubleshoot Discovery Linking Issues Workshop

This workshop includes hands-on, individualized troubleshooting with a product expert to help participants identify the causes of full-text linking problems in their discovery services and fix them so patrons can access the content they need. Each participant will leave the session with a troubleshooting toolkit tailored to their own institution.

(b) Bring examples of linking issues from your discovery service; that is, discovery search results that involve some or all of these issues:
  • Patrons need help finding the e-resource in your discovery service even though you subscribe to or own it
  • Patrons cannot access the full text of the resource from the vendor
  • Patrons cannot access an e-resource when not on your institution's internal network
