In MetaLib, when displaying records for which the Full Text option is available (according to their SFX menu), the Full Text button sometimes does not display.

Full Text button does not display in MetaLib when full text is available in SFX


1. Verify that in the file …/metalib_conf/www_server.conf, the parameter "check_full_text_avail" is set to one of the following options: ALL (if you want the Full Text button to display in all views of record), Full only (if you want the Full Text button to display in the Full View only), or Table-Brief (if you want the Full Text button to display in Table and Brief Views).

2. Make sure your SFX journal subscription index is updated.

3. The Full Text button will *not* display if the specific journal is inactive in SFX for the default institute. The reason is that MetaLib sends the request to SFX without the user’s IP, nor specifying the user’s affiliation, thus making a request for the default institute.
