Adding a CSL citation style in Primo results in an error

    • Product: Primo
    • Product Version: August 2021
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Classic Primo, Multi-Tenant Direct, Dedicated-Direct, Local, TotalCare, Primo VE

    Description

(This issue applies to Primo VE and Classic Primo.)

Cannot add a citation style for modern-language-association-8th-edition.
This issue may exist for any new CSL citation, modern-language-association-8th-edition is just an example.

Primo gives an error "You must enter a valid bibliographic style code. For the list of valid codes, see https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles"

An entry for this style does exist in that GitHub list.

    Resolution

Step 4 in the Primo citation guides* states:
"NOTE: Because Primo VE downloads new styles from the repository prior to each release, some of the newer styles may not be available until Primo VE's next release."

The error observed is caused by the fact that modern-language-association-8th-edition.csl was recently added to the GitHub repository, and it has not yet been added to Primo. The CSL list available to Primo will be refreshed as part of the next Primo Release process.
