Reloading Data Breaks Links to Tags

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Primo
    • Product Version: 2

    Description:
When reloading data, the relationship between the PNX and PNX extensions is broken (or are not indexed).
We did a clean & reload recently. Afterward the tags put in before the reload show up in the tags list, but clicking on them gives zero results. Newly-entered tags appear to work as anticipated.
I would expect the clean_data_all to either reset the tags or leave them so they would be reassociated when data are reloaded and indexed (perhaps with a relationship between the RECORDID and RECORD_ID or something else not related to a generated sequence).
PNX extensions were enabled throughout earlier and later data loads and front-end usage.

    Resolution:
When cleaning data, the connection between tags (PNX extensions) and items (PNX records) is removed.
In order to reconnect them, you must run the connecting script and re-index.
    The server commands are:
    >> be_bin
    >> restore_ext_tags.sh
If you do not re-index, then the tags will not be searchable.
Please see Primo System Administration Guide, chapter 6, "Performing System Cleanup", "Re-Indexing the Database", p 40.

If the clean-up was part of an upgrade, then you could also consult the upgrade package installation guide (Doc Portal > Primo > v2.,0 > Implementation and Installation Information > Primo Upgrade Kit Installation Guide.pdf), Post-Upgrade Implementation Procedures section, p 18.
That documentation explains how to install the fix that creates this script and how to run the script.
