    Description:
Unable to use the test feature for the normalization rules.

When trying to run test on a new normalization rule we get an error that says:

Failed to parse document of decode the reason is: Element type "code" must be followed by either attribute specifications, ">" or "/>"

This error will also cause pipe failure, and appear in the log of the pipe.

    Resolution:
Non-XML characters cannot appear in the Normalization mapping tables, otherwise they will cause the normalization rules to fail (even if the specific rule does not use the invalid mapping table).
Included in these "unacceptable" characters are & "

Instead of "&" it is possible to use & for the test utility or pipe to be valid.

This issue is still open and was escalated to Development for further investigation <2009-05-10 01:00:02>.
