What is the best way to do Primo Advanced Searching with a Deep Link

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Primo
    • Product Version: 4

    Description:

What are some tips for creating a  Classic UI Deep Link to search more fields of a PNX record, similar to an Advanced Search in Classic UI?

    Resolution:

Deep Links can be constructed using the available parameters (such as using multiple &query parameters) that will perform the same searches used by the Advanced Search screen.

Classic UI Deep Links are documented in Developers Network:
    https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com...eeplinks/brief

Fields to be searched must be in the <search> section of PNX. If facet syntax is uesd, fields from <facet> section are used.
It is also recommended to use the &search_scope parameter instead of the deprecated &loc parameter for specifying scopes.

    an example query:
    title starts with Harry
    creator contains rowling
    subject contains wizards
    facet prefilter equals books

    as a Deep Link:

    http://myPrimo.hosted.exlibrisgroup....scope=my_scope

For the New UI, there is no special syntax for Deep Links. You can perform an Advanced Search using the interface, and use the resulting Primo Search Url as a Deep Link.
