Support External Resources in Collection Discovery - Phase 2 – Previously, you could add records from external sources (loaded into Primo VE) using DC and MARC formats to collections managed in Alma. With this enhancement, you can now add records in the XML format. For additional information, see Adding External Records to Collections for Discovery.

Authority Search Improvements for January – The following enhancements have been made to Authority Search:

The following table highlights subfields that now appear in the brief and full display of 1XX fields in Authority Search results. In addition, all subfields for the 1XX fields are now separated with a dot. No additional configuration is necessary. For more details about Authority Search, see Configuring Authority Search for Primo VE.

With this enhancement, Authority Search results can be filtered by adding the searchField parameter directly to the URL. Previously, this parameter was ignored unless it was added by selecting the search field from the drop-down list in the Search Box.

This section lists the fixes and enhancements associated with CDI by their release date to ensure that Primo/VE customers are aware of the availability of these updates during and between releases of Primo/VE. When available, CDI updates are released on the first Wednesday of the month.

Unless otherwise specified, these updates apply to both Primo and Primo VE environments.

Updated CDI's text analyzer to include the following synonyms for Hebrew:

In some cases, contextual relationships between Books and Book Chapters were not displayed in the UI because the system only calculated relationships for material available as full text online. This has been changed so that full text and non-full text book chapters are returned in the result list, regardless of the Available online / Expand beyond the library holdings filtering options.

In some cases, Hebrew periodical titles appeared in English transliteration in the Publication title facet and in the record display. This has been fixed.

CDI-29458 In some cases, Hebrew records were not returned in Primo because CDI incorrectly assigned English as the record language. This has been fixed.

Support for Linking Parser Parameters for Database Collections at Collection Level to be Used by CDI Direct Linking –
Some providers require customized URLs for accessing their content, which include special credentials. Previously, linking parameters for collections with portfolios were configured at the service level. From the November release, institutions can now define linking parameters at the collection level for database-type collections in Alma and SFX. These linking parameters are published to CDI and used for CDI Link in Record linking. Only database collections defined this way in the Alma Community Zone/ SFX CKB can be configured, and only linking parameters defined in the Community Zone/CKB can be set.

The Alma Community Zone/SFX CKB will gradually add relevant linking parameters for database collections, initially focusing on Gale and ProQuest collections.

Content release notes and the Community Zone update task list will provide notifications about new database collections with available linking parameters.

Editors were not included in the PNX addata/au fields for Book Chapters resulting in incomplete citations. This has been fixed.

An intermittent failure in CDI access rights orchestration across Ex Libris Data Centers caused some records to be unavailable temporarily. This problem affected records returned in the expanded search for Primo Fully Flexible institutions. The orchestration method was altered to ensure that searchable access rights were consistent across Data Centers.
