Configuring Authority Search for Primo VE
Introduction
The Authority Search page exposes local authority records to users. When activated, this page enables users to search for and view local authority records configured in the library, find different names and relations between authorities, and find bibliographic records that are associated with a particular authority record.

Currently, Primo VE only supports local authorities (not Library of Congress or Mesh).

For customers with a collaborative network setup, if local authorities are defined in the network, they can be searched only via the NZ View. From the IZ, it is possible to search only for local authorities owned by the IZ (not the NZ).

This feature relies on Alma's search functionality, which includes non-preferred and see also fields in its indexing. Thus, search results may include records in which the only incidence of the search term is in one of these fields.

After performing an Authority Search, the matching Authority records are listed alphabetically by the term heading. The displayed information for each matching Authority record includes the following lines, which also appear at the top of the Authority record's Full Display page:

Term heading (1XX) – The second line of each Authority record. Selecting the term heading opens the details of the Authority record. For more information, see Full Display.

Search for records with this term link (Original UI) / Search for records button (NDE UI) – In the Original UI, the third line of each Authority record; in the NDE UI, a button in the row of the Authority record. Selecting one of these options returns all titles that use the selected authority.

This functionality is disabled by default. Refer to the following table to enable this functionality and configure related options.

This functionality is disabled by default. To enable this functionality, in the Links Menu tab, activate the row containing the AuthoritySearch code. The Authority Search option is added to the Main menu. To configure the options available to users in the Authority Search page, edit the row containing the AuthoritySearch code. The Edit Menu Link page opens. In this page, you can configure the following:
