Rialto ISBN substitutions workflow

If you have accepted a substitution to your order, the information in Alma may need to be updated to reflect the new title information.  Check the bibliographic record the order is linked to.  If the bibliographic record was created by Rialto and has no other inventory attached to it, no action is required. (The bibliographic record can safely be updated to align with the new order information without affecting other holdings.)

If the record existed prior to the to the Rialto order (either because it is attached local holdings or because it is part of a shared Network Zone record attached to other institutions’ holdings), then the MARC record describes existing inventory that is a different edition or version.  If that’s the case, create a new MARC record and relink the order to it.  This will prevent subsequent MARC record updates for this order from overlaying the cataloging of other holdings.  For more information about relinking an order line, see: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/020Acquisitions/030Receiving_Material/040Closing%2C_Reopening%2C_and_Relinking_PO_Lines#Relinking_PO_Lines
