The following user roles are required to search Rialto from Rapido requests in Alma:

    • Selector
    • Selector Limited
    • Purchasing Operator
    • Purchasing Manager

Rialto users handling borrowing requests are able to search Rialto directly from Rapido requests within the Alma platform. This integration enables them to place orders in Rialto seamlessly, maintaining the continuity of their workflow. Additionally, while overseeing borrowing requests, crucial progress of these orders placed in Rialto is sent back to be viewed on the borrowing request.

This integration supports the ability to:

    • Search in Market (Navigation and Actions)
    • View resource sharing information in right sliding panel
    • Option to close borrowing request in Shopping Cart or leave it open
    • Link offers to cart or list
    • Discovery: Badge displayed when a title is linked to a borrowing request
    • Post purchase processing status

    Search in Market

From the Borrowing Request screen, a new link to Search in Market is included. This link allows for searching the marketplace for available titles based on citation metadata provided in the borrowing request; similar to the workflows provided in Rialto from the Manage Purchase Request and Reading List/Citation List screens.

When selecting the Search in Market option, all typical actions associated with conducting a search are available. Users can update the search content and type.

    Resource Sharing Information

After selecting Search in Market, a sliding panel will open wherein a search (typically keyword) is performed automatically. Users are presented with all the works available for purchase. Users will then need to select a work to view the available offerings within. To help identify the best fit offer, when expanded, the right panel displays information for associated holdings, courses, and the specific borrowing request the search initiated from. The latter includes the title, author, ISBN, internal identifier, borrowing request status, and the requesting user.

    Link Borrowing Requests to Cart

"Add to cart" as the main action is replaced with "Link and add to cart" allowing for the item's connection to the borrowing request. After selecting this option, all Rialto users will see an icon on the offering within the marketplace stating the offering is linked to a borrowing request and in a cart. From the borrowing request screen, users will see that the requested title is in a Rialto cart.

If the title is added to a list, there is no connection to the borrowing request.

    Borrowing Request in Shopping Cart

After a title is added to the cart, an internal note is applied containing the borrowing request details. This includes the requestor, whom staff may want to add as an interested user.

Users will also see the option to close the borrowing request or leave it open. If electing to close the request, the status is not completed until the item is purchase. E.g.: a selector elects to close the request when submitting for approval. The request is not closed until the approver completes the purchase.

    Post Purchase Processing Status

When a Rialto offer links to a borrowing request, the borrowing request updates to reflect the current processing status. The statuses include:

    • In Rialto Cart: when the title is in a cart or awaiting order approval; displayed when the borrowing request is kept open after linking.
    • On Order: when the order has been placed.
    • Complete: when the item has been received or activated.
    • Rejected: if the order is rejected by an approver.
    • Cancelled: if the order is cancelled.
