    Rapido Integration

The following user roles are required to search Rialto from Rapido requests in Alma:

    • Selector
    • Selector Limited
    • Purchasing Operator
    • Purchasing Manager

Rialto users handling borrowing requests are able to search Rialto directly from Rapido requests within the Alma platform. This integration enables them to place orders in Rialto seamlessly, maintaining the continuity of their workflow. Additionally, while overseeing borrowing requests, crucial progress of these orders placed in Rialto is sent back to be viewed on the borrowing request.

This integration supports the ability to:

    Search in Market

From the Borrowing Request screen, a new link to Search in Market is included. This link searches the marketplace based on citation metadata, similar to the workflows in Purchase Request and Leganto search. Context is preserved when navigating back, returning the user to the borrowing requests page focused on the citation that triggered the workflow. All facets and the page number are preserved, ensuring, for instance, that if the search was launched from page 3 of a faceted list, the user returns to page 3 with the same facets selected.

When selecting the Search in Market option, all typical actions associated with conducting a search are available.

    Resource Sharing Information

When viewing offers, the right panel displays holdings and borrowing request information, similar to the Leganto display. This information includes the title, author, ISBN, internal identifier, borrowing request status, and the requesting user.

Link Borrowing Requests to Cart or List

"Add to cart" is replaced with "Link and add to cart" indicating its connection to a borrowing request and displaying the Resource Sharing and the In your cart badges. After selecting this option, the user can select to "keep the borrowing request open" or "close the borrowing request." If "close the borrowing request" is selected, communication is sent to Rapido indicating that the title is pending purchase in Rialto. When a title is added to the cart, a note to the approver includes "recommended by resource sharing (Borrowing request ID)," similar to the current practice in purchase requests. If the title is added to a list, this connection persists when eventually added to the cart.
