    Description:
Please describe the usage of the target 856_URL

    Resolution:
The 856_URL target will work with ALEPH as a source (it is possible that other catalog-specific source parsers could be configured in the future if there is interest). When an OpenURL is sent from ALEPH, SFX performs a Z39.50 fetch operation to obtain the MARC record. SFX will display the 856 $y (if existing) in the SFX Menu and use the 856 $u as the Target destination.

In this way OpenURLs sent from the catalog also show any associated 856 link in the SFX Menu. This is especially useful for monograph records (such as titles from NetLibrary, etc.)

All you have to do to set up this target is a) activate it in your KBAdmin b) make sure that your ALEPH fetch works.
