  • For information on turning on Debugging and using the OpenURL Generator, refer to the SFX Advanced User’s Guide.
  • To set up automated sign-in for the Contact Support option, see the Configuring Contact Support section of the SFX Advanced User's Guide.
If you are having problems determining why you are not getting the results you expect from SFX, send the OpenURL of the search you performed to Ex Libris support SalesForce CRM via the Contact Support option in the SFXAdmin Center.
To ensure this option signs you in automatically to the SalesForce CRM, follow the instructions described in the Configuring Contact Support section of the SFX Advanced User's Guide.
The OpenURL can be found in the following places:
  • If you use the OpenURL Generator form to create OpenURLs:
    1. Fill in the metadata of the search you are performing.
    2. Select View OpenURL.
    3. Click Submit.
    4. Copy the OpenURL from the next page and send it to your local Ex Libris support center along with a description of the problem.
  • If you use a source database:
    1. From the SFX menu, view the HTML source by right-clicking and selecting View Source.
    2. Scroll down and copy the lines starting with 'sfx.openurl' => and send them to your local Ex Libris support center along with a description of the problem.
    3. From the SFX menu, view the URL by right-clicking and selecting View Page Info (Firefox) or Properties (in Internet Explorer).
    4. Copy and paste the information in the Address (URL) field, and send it to your local Ex Libris support center along with a description of the problem.
      In some source databases, you can also find the OpenURL by right-clicking the SFX button.
    5. Select copy link location in Netscape or Copy Shortcut in Internet Explorer and paste the link into an e-mail and send it to your local Ex Libris support center along with a description of the problem.
