Announcing CAB Abstracts Pilot for Summon
Update May 2021
The pilot period has ended so the content has been removed from the index.
We are working with CAB International to ingest a new feed, which will be announced in the Content Roadmap and CDI Release Notes when it is live.
CABI has partnered with Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, to pilot their CAB Abstracts data for Discovery. The pilot period runs from August 27, 2018 to November 30, 2018 and includes citation data for a subset of CAB Abstracts (more than 450,000 records) and all CAB Abstracts full text content (more than 400,000 records).
To ensure the success of this pilot, we encourage all CAB Abstracts subscribers to select the following database in Client Center / Intota to activate the pilot program:
Provider |
DBID name |
DBID |
CAB International |
CAB Abstracts Summon Pilot |
ABNGT |
All subscribers, including those who subscribe via ProQuest, Dialog, Ovid, Clairvate, or directly from CABI, should subscribe to this DBID. All users will be linked from Summon directly to the CAB Abstracts platform for the duration of the pilot. CABI will ensure that all users who subscribe via other platforms are authenticated to the CAB Abstracts platform.
This pilot project is a unique opportunity and we encourage librarians to activate the CABI content to make it more discoverable in Summon. The more institutions who participate and provide feedback, the more effective this much-anticipated pilot will be!
Action you need to take:
- Update the holdings in your Intota or Client Center profile by subscribing to the new database CAB Abstracts Summon Pilot, DBID: ABNGT. For information on how to update your profile:
