How does Summon link users to institutional repositories?

The Summon service displays links to content in your institutional repository (IR) once your IR records have been uploaded to the Summon Index. Direct links are created if URLs are present for items in your IR. If no URLs are present, Summon will create OpenURL links to your IR content.
