    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: all

    Problem Symptoms:

    • Attempting to cancel purchase order results in error message: "This purchase order contains serials and cannot be canceled."
    • At least one Line item copy displays Received Complete status on PO footer, Received Partial in Detailed Line Item>Copy Status tab
    • Purchase order status is Approved
    • No pending invoices are attached to purchase order
    • Purchase order contains a line item with a subscription component

    Cause:
Purchase order contains a line item with an active subscription component, preventing its deletion.

    Resolution:
    1. a. If a record of issues received is needed, transfer that information to the holdings record in Cataloging
OR b. If you have a new order for the same title, copy the old PO with components re-linked (so the component is attached to new line item & PO, not old)
    2. Delete subscription component
    3. Cancel purchase order
