    Question

We download records from a provider and import them into our catalog. Some are very long and cannot be imported. can we increase the maximum length of the record in Voyager?

    Answer

Maximum record length is not configurable. The Logical Record Length of a MARC record is 5 characters, which means the maximum size of a record by definition is 99,999 characters. Voyager can handle records of very great size but you may not be able to import or save records as they approach the maximum record length.
