    Question

We would like to activate Circjob 38 to change how we retain circulation history. However, we are concerned it will affect the history from our Media Scheduling module, which we would like to retain in its entirety. Can Media Scheduling history be excluded from Circjob 38?

    Answer

Circulation history and Media Booking history are actually tracked separately in the database; if you activate circjob 38, it will not interfere with booking history from Media Scheduling.

    Additional Information

You can turn off/on the Retain Patron Id feature for Circ and Media Booking independently in System Administration: SysAdmin > System > Miscellaneous > Retain Patron Id for Media Booking History.

The batch jobs for these are set up separately as well: Circjob 38 changes the patron_id to 0 in the CIRC_TRANS_ARCHIVE table, while Mediajob 5 modifies the patron information in the MEDIA_BOOKING_ARCHIVE table.
