    Problem Symptoms

    • When GDC rule consequence is DELETE, records are not deleted.
    • GDC job log has ?Error implementing data change rule.?

    Cause

    This behavior is the result of Issue 16384-21858.

    Resolution

    Fixed in Voyager 8.2.2.

    Replication Steps

    1. In GDC, create a set of records
    2. Create a Data Change Rule set
      1. Condition= Created before May 2013 (includes all)
      2. Consequence: Record disposition = Delete
    3. Add data change rule set to a new rule set group.
    4. Preview changes. Note: ?Rule execution causes record to be deleted.?
    5. Submit data change job.
    6. After job complete, view log. Note. ?[Error implementing data change rule ].? Note: Records not deleted.

    Workaround

    Delete authority records via Cataloging, use BulkImport for bibs.
