    GDC services will not start

    Problem Symptoms

    When starting Voyager, this error message is displayed: ERROR com.exlibris.voyager.gdc.server.GDCServer  - Can not run the GDC server
    GDC server is not running and will not start.

    Environment

    Solaris
    Linux
    Global Data Change (GDC)

    Cause

    Old pid files in /m1/voyager/xxxdb/log directory (where xxxdb is the Voyager Database Instance)

    Resolution

    1. Log into the server as the Voyager user and navigate to the /m1/voyager/xxxdb/log directory
    2. rm -r gdcsvr.pid jobd.pid
    3. Run the /m1/voyager/xxxdb/sbin/Pdgcsvr script to start GDC server
    4. If all of Voyager was down, then as the root user, restart the Voyager processes with the /etc/init.d/voyager restart command
