    Question

When I do a search in the OPAC for a known Call Number, the search does not display the record as expected in the result.  Why?

    Answer

Check that the record's MFHD 852 has a first indicator value; this determines the rules by which the Call Number is normalized.

Without a first indicator, the Call Number will not be normalized and not display in Call Number Search or Browse in the OPAC.

You can add the value manually, or, if many records share the same indicator value, you can use the Global Data Change client to batch update the MFHD records with this value.
