When using the Media Equipment Booking form in WebVoyage, you should be prevented from placing a booking without selecting any equipment (or at least receive a warning that you’re about to place a booking that has no equipment).
You can place a Media Equipment Booking form in WebVoyage without selecting any equipment.
Workflow implications: Patrons make equipment-less bookings without realizing, and show up expecting to have reserved something that may not now be available.
In WebVoyage, bring up the Media Equipment Booking form
*Don’t* select anything in the Select Equipment: box
Supply a valid start/end time/date for your booking
Select a Pickup At or Deliver To room that has no associated equipment
Click Check Schedule and, if available, click Place Booking
--> Your request will succeed, and you’ll see that in the resulting Confirmation screen, no equipment is associated with your request.
Other information: In the Media Scheduling client, you can make a booking that has no associated Media or Equipment, but you’re given a warning message first.
Fixed in WebVoyage for 8.1.0.
