Run Time Errors When Validating 6XX.7 subject fields without subfield 2.

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.2.0

    Problem Symptoms:
? Subject headings with second indicator 7 and without subfield 2 give run time errors 65099 and 440 when record is saved

    Cause:
This behavior is isolated to Voyager 8.2.0.2 hotfix package, and only occurs when required subfield 2 for 6XX with 2nd indicator 7 is missing.

    Resolution:
This behavior does not occur in Voyager 8.2.1.

    Additional Information

    Replication steps:

    1. Cataloging > Record > New > Bibliographic > Add fields:
    245 00 ?a This is a test
    650 07 ?aRugby League.
(Note: though 2nd indicator of 7 requires subfield 2 (Source of heading), it is not added.)
    2. Save to DB
Run-time error '65099': Connection lost. Application will be aborted.
    Run-time error '440': Application-defined or object-defined error.

Workaround: Add subfield 2 to bibliographic record templates for 6XX fields with second indicator 7.
