WebV: Suppressed bibs in course reserves not displaying in reserve lists

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.1.2

    Description:
    Bug Report Issue 16384-17969

    Module(s): WebVoyage; also Cataloging, Circulation
    Release(s) replicated in: 8.1.0, 8.1.1
    Last version without bug: 8.0.0

Expected results: When a bib linked to a course reserve list is suppressed, it will be suppressed from search functions but will still be viewable in the course reserve list.

Actual results: When a bib linked to a course reserve list is suppressed, it appears in the titles list for the reserve list in WebVoyage, but the record and holdings information will not display.

Workflow implications: Patrons can’t view any details for the title, nor any holdings details to retrieve it.

    Replication steps:
Find an active Course Reserve list in Circulation and make note of one of the items on the list.
Find the bib for the item on reserve in Cataloging. Note that it is not suppressed.
In the Course Reserve tab in WebVoyage, retrieve the course reserve list. Note that the title appears in the list. If you click on the title to pull up the bib and holdings information, it displays.
Now return to Cataloging and check the Suppress in OPAC box on the System tab for the bib record & save the record.
Back in the Course Reserve tab in WebVoyage, retrieve the course reserve list again. Note that the title appears in the list. If you click on the title to pull up the bib & holdings information, get “No holdings available – check at Circulation Desk” and no bib information displays.

Workaround: Unsuppress bib records for course reserves.
Note, however, that this will also make the title searchable in WebVoyage.

    Resolution:
    Fixed in Voyager 8.1.2.
