    Question

Why aren't items being created upon check-in of serial issues, even when the component in question has 'Create Items' checked off on the Component Details tab?

    Answer

If the operator in question does not belong to an Acquisitions Security Profile that has 'Add/Update Item' checked on the Profile Values tab, items will not be created upon checking in serials even if 'Create Items' is checked off on the Component Details tab.

    To fix:
    1. Go to System Administration>Security>Acquisitions/Serials Profiles>profile of operator>Profile Values tab
    2. Check the Add/Update Item check box in the first row
