    Question

Why do some purchase orders exist in the purchase_order table, but display the message 'not found' when we try to search for them in the Acquisitions client?

    Answer

These rows in the purchase_order table do not represent real POs.  If you click New Purchase Order and close out a PO without saving, the database stores a row in purchase_order for this PO using the assigned po_id.  You can tell if a PO meets this criteria because in purchase_order, the required field po_number will be null and required field vendor_id will be 0.  Because the PO was never saved, there will never be any associated line item data.

These lines in purchase_order have no impact on any other data and do not affect rollover or migration to Alma.  Because their existence has no functional or technical implications, Ex Libris will not delete these rows.
