    Question

Why is it that when a record contains both a 240 and 245, the information in the 240 shows up in the title index and not the 245?

    Answer

A Title< (Title Left Anchored or TALL) is a composite search which searches many title fields (240, 440, 780, ect.). The system will display (in the Title List) the indexed title (245, 240, 440 etc) that is found first. The first entry in the index is the one that's displayed, so if the series title comes first in the collating order in the index, the series title is the title that shows up in the left hand column, rather than the 245 title.
