    1. What is happening to databases of MITPress?

What is happening to databases of MITPress?

In conjunction with our colleagues at MIT Press, we have been working to improve the representation of the MIT content in 360KB.

     Recent changes include:

    • Release of the 2021 collections
    • The Open Access collections have been consolidated into a single collection MIT Press Direct OA

    Future changes include:

    • MITPress Direct 2020 Master List [DBID ABFEK] will be renamed to MIT Press Direct Full Backfile.
This collection includes all books except for the 2021 collection.
    • MITPressDirect 2020 OA [DBID ACMPN] will be renamed to MIT Press Direct OA.
    • MITPressDirect 2019 OA [DBID AFWER] will be hidden and all titles will be removed.
These changes will take effect on May 30, 2021.

The database MITPressDirect 2019 OA from the provider MIT is no longer being updated. In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on our Knowledgebase collection policy), all titles will be removed from MITPressDirect 2019 OA database and the database will be hidden in the Knowledgebase on May 30, 2021. The database will become a zero-titles database, and no future subscriptions will be possible.

Actions you may need to take:

    • If you are a 360 Resource Manager, 360 Counter, or Intota client, you may need to make some changes to your account settings before May 30, 2021:
      • Intota users click here.
      • Client Center users click here.
    • f you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the database name as it appears in the Client Center/Intota to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after May 30, 2021.
    • If your library uses a third-party service (such as EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
