360 Core: Automated Holdings for Springer Nature
Auto-holdings management saves you time and effort by automating the exchange of ebook and ejournal holdings (subscribed titles) with provider Springer Nature. Based on the NISO RP-26-2019 standard for KBART automation, the process ensures timely and accurate holdings updates without staff mediation.

Configuring Automated Holdings Management for Subscribed Titles
The databases Springer Online Journals Complete (SOJ) and Springer Books (SBO) support auto-management of ebook and ejournal subscriptions across Springer Nature databases. When auto-management is enabled, title statuses are updated to either Subscribed or Not Tracked in the Springer Nature database.
360 Resource Manager and Intota libraries will continue to use the individual Springer Nature databases to record e-resource management data (such as payments, renewals, contacts, notes, and so forth).
When a title's status is set to Subscribed, it inherits the Display In settings from the Springer Nature database and appears in the following discovery services: E-Journal Portal, 360 Link, and/or Summon.

Search for and edit one or both of the databases Springer Online Journals Complete (SOJ) and Springer Books (SBO).

On the Database Details page, change the Status field to a value other than Not Tracked, and then specify the following fields:

We subscribe to only some of the titles in this database – Select this checkbox to enable the system to manage only the titles to which you have access.

Display In – Include or exclude services by selecting or clearing the checkbox next to the service name.

Token – Enter your 16-character Springer Nature token in the Token field at the bottom of the page.

Automated holdings updates are processed in the same manner as standard 360 Services and Summon discovery updates. For 360 Link, the EJP, and 360 MARC Updates: once your holdings are processed in the daily cache refresh, updated holdings will be available to your end users. Once CDI has received your updated holdings, they will be available to your end users. The frequency of the CDI update process is described in this article.

After the auto-holdings management has been enabled, turn off the Display In discovery settings for any other individual Springer Nature databases (such as Springer Images (2WA), Springer Materials (KDP), and so forth) to prevent duplicate holdings in discovery.

To disable auto-holdings management, remove the Token value and save the change.
Considerations for 360 Resource Manager Clients
Even though discovery will now be managed using the Springer Nature database, the subscription databases that you license from Springer Nature should still be used to record e-resource management data (such as payments, renewals, contacts, notes, and so forth).
Updated titles will display a status of Subscribed, but custom statuses (such as Purchased or License Negotiation) cannot be applied using Automated Holdings Management.
