Where can I find answers to general questions about the 360 Resource Manager Cost Data Upload tool?
Full procedures for using the Cost Data Upload tool in the Client Center are available here. This document answers some general questions you may have after you start using the tool:
What is the purpose of the Cost Data Upload tool?
Before this tool, all cost data fields had to be entered manually, by you. The upload tool allows you to compile all metadata in a single file and batch-upload it at once.
Why are ISSN, ISBN10, ISBN13, and SSIDs included in the downloadable templates?
These are provided to help you match our resource titles to the resources in your own system. There are no standard resource identifiers and we do not have a way to easily "normalize" titles from any outside systems into the customer-facing application. Even if we could normalize the titles, there is no 100% guarantee that we could correctly match against our 360 KB resources. The identifiers we match on are unique and will provide 100% match.
What if I were to change the name of a resource completely?
It doesn't matter. You can change a resource name to whatever you want. We don't match on the name. Any cost data that was correctly identified for a particular database will match and be uploaded to that databases, regardless of the name.

Can I upload multiple years' worth of cost data for a single resource?
Yes, you can upload cost data from as far back as the year 2000. This can be easily accomplished by copying and inserting a new row into the spreadsheet for that resource, entering any additional cost data required, updating the Fiscal Year, and uploading the file.
Can I upload a single file containing both database and journal title-level data?
Yes, you could download the file containing all your active databases and a file containing the journal-level titles you want to track, append the files, add in the cost data for the resources, and upload the file. For example, if you wanted to track the cost at a database level for all of your subscribed resources, but track your ScienceDirect titles at the journal level, you could download the file containing all your active databases, and a file containing the ScienceDirect journal-level titles you want to track, append the files, add in the cost data for the resources, and upload the file.
Can I update existing cost data using the Cost Data Upload Tool?
Yes! The easiest way to do so is to use the Cost Report - Details available in the Management Tools section of the Client Center as a template. Click here for instructions.
Are the column headers required?
Yes. We use the column headers to map the data to the proper field. If the headers are removed and the file is uploaded, an error will occur. But you can move whole columns around within the spreadsheet; as long as we have the proper column header, we will map the data to the associated field within 360 Resource Manager.
What date formats are accepted in the template?
All Client Center valid date formats are accepted; however, they are automatically converted to the standard MM/DD/YYYY format.
Aren't there row limitations in Excel? How do I work around those, especially if my library has 100,000 or more title-level resources?
Yes, Microsoft Excel does have row limitations as well as column and character limitations. They can be found here.
