Items with process status get current date/time as due date/time - loan & recall

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
We have a small number of items with a process status NB (around 850).

We have recently noticed that when checking items out that have a process status NB, the item receives a due date & time of the current date & time.
E.g. item 39097012649324 was checked out 2/25/2008 at 1:38pm and received the due date of 2/25/2008 at 1:38pm
The item should have received the due date 05/15/2008 at 23:59

The item was later recalled by p_cir_13 on 3/11/2008 at 7:30 am and received the new due date 3/11/2008 at 1:38pm
It should have been 14 days later, or 3/25/2008

I am trying to track down why the item process status seems to be affecting the due dates.

The example I have given is of an item status 02 which ordinarily would be Non-circ, but I have run multiple tests with item status 01 items which are circulating and the problem seems to occur only if the item has a process status of NB. I have not tried any other process statuses.

    Summary:

Item status 01 + process status NB = due date/time is current date/time
Item status 01 + blank process status = due date is calculated according to tab16

    Resolution:
Item Processing Status doesn't play a role in setting due dates, so that isn't at issue here. Looking at the item you cited and tab16 in MBB50, the problem is the absence of a match point for items with Item Status of 02. You should have, minimally, a line that begins:

    16T 02 ## ##
