    ALEPH OAI Implementation: License? Documentation?

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

We have contracted with Ex Libris for the OAI function in ALEPH and want to know what we need to do to implement it.. Do we need a license parameter added? Is there documentation?

    Resolution

The Ex Libris License Manager has provided the following information:

"Not every function included in the price list is protected by the product license. This is one of those cases. The client will get the OAI services because it’s included in the IO and they paid for it, but it’s not protected by the license."

There are no special programs given to customers who contract for OAI. The OAI programs are included in the standard version 18 software distribution.

There is information about the implementation of OAI in the Documentation Center, in the Aleph > OAI and Publishing folder.

If your contract does not include the OAI function, then you must add it to your contract in order to use it.
