A question about sort order on the Order Index

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
I don't understand why the index and order number are being liisted the way they are. We've just started using Acquisitions and have just three Orders the Order number index is sorted like this:

    10
    8
    9

Are the columns sortable? At the very least, I think the index/order number should read:

    10
    9
    8

    Resolution:
The Order Number isn't really a number. It can be alphanumeric, and some sites use only alephabetic Order Numbers. Consequently, the Order Number isn't treated as an integer. It's sorted on a character by character basis. Since the 1 in 10 sorts before 8, it appears first in the list. If you added 2 new Order Numbers - 85 and ORD-10, the sort order would be:

    10
    8
    85
    9
    ORD-10
