Some of our libraries do not have static IP addresses. Are there any alternatives (aside from IP recognition) for connecting with a GUI client?

A workstation ID can be used instead of an IP address for GUI access.

Section 38.1 of the "System Librarian’s Guide - Circulation": "The station ID is set using the Set Workstation Identifier function, available by clicking the key icon at the bottom right of the screen. It is saved locally as an encrypted value in .\alephcom\tab\stationid.dat."

For example, I clicked on "Set workstation identifier" and entered "JERRYTEST" as the ID. A .\alephcom\tab\stationid.dat file was created containing this:

    Then restart the pc_server.

I then placed the *unencrypted* station ID ("JERRYTEST") in the ./abc50/tab/tab_attr_sub_library instead of the IP address.

Then restart your GUI PC client.
