Aleph PDS Setup Copied from MetaLib
- Article Type: General
- Product: Aleph
- Product Version: 20
Description:
MetaLib is installed and working and we are currently implementing Aleph.
In MetaLib, we use a series of authentication sources:
[1] Student LDAP
[2] Staff LDAP
[3] Library Local LDAP
This PDS authentication is setup and functioning on MetaLib.
We have copied the ldap*.conf files to Aleph, but the LDAP PDS is not working there, although regular PDS authentication using only Aleph borrower ids is working.
Resolution:
On MetaLib, the ldap*.conf files used for LDAP PDS will work with lower case section headings. The section headings are the lines in square brackets, such as GENERAL, XML SETTING, etc.
On Aleph, the exact same files will only work if the section headings are changed to uppercase.
Example:
[GENERAL]
host_name = mynet.abc.edu
port = 3889
init_bind_dn = cn=LIB_SEARCH,OU=LIB,DC=mynet,DC=abc,DC=edu
init_bind_password = pAsSw0rD
search_base = DC=mynet,DC=abc,DC=edu
search_filter = sAMAccountName=USERNAME
ldap_version = 3
[XML SETTING]
xml_root_node = bor_authentication
[ATTRIBUTES MAPPING]
cn = user_name
mail = email_address
