    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 22

    Problem Symptoms:
When using the OPAC format in Z39.50 searches, not all the holding records are retrieved

    Cause:
In $alephe_tab/z39_gate table, the <opac-record-size> <num> parameter is lower than the total size of the OPAC record. This causes the OPAC record returned by the z39_server to include only MARC data without any holdings data.

    Resolution:
Increase the value of the $alephe/tab/z39_gate table <opac-record-size> <num> parameter so it is higher than the total size of all OPAC records

    Additional Information

    * opac-record-size limits the size of the OPAC record.
    * It works in multiples of 1024 bytes.
    * Therefore, when this parameter is set to 10, the maximum value of the OPAC record will be 10240 bytes. If the value is 20, the maximum size will be 20480 bytes, etc
