Are USM entries necessary in the library.ini file?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
Now that we have our test server running, one of our catalogers tried importing a record from OCLC. When she did, she got the following message:

Library USM01 not in file library.ini

The message repeated for USM10, 11, 12, 13, 50, and 60, then she was able to duplicate the record in NYU01, its proper location.

Since USMxx refers to demo libraries, I removed them from the library.ini file for the client package needed for our test server. Is there a change that should be made elsewhere, so that checking isn't done for the unneeded USMxx libraries? [ <Adam Spector > ]

    Resolution:
This is similar to KB 16384-25474.

Check your pc's .\Catalog\tab\per_lib.ini. If you find these USMnn libraries there, you could remove them, but we prefer that you add entries for them to the .\Alephcom\tab\library.ini, to facilitate testing -- which *is* sometimes required to compare a function in USMnn to ABCnn.

If you don't find entries in per_lib.ini, let me know and I will study further.
