    Question

BIB and AUT index entries do not match because of a comma in BIB field. Can the comma be deleted so that a match is performed?

    Entries are ...
    ... in BIB record
    R. Olafsson,

    ... in AUT record
    R. Olafsson

    Answer

The normalized text which is used for matching is not identical:

    BIB, AUT index:
    02 z01_normalized_text .....$$-r olafsson,

    AUT, GEN index:
    02 z01_normalized_text .....$$-r olafsson

Add the following line to xxx01/tab/tab_filing:
    01 N end_punctuation ,

Then the comma will be deleted and the index entries should match. Please do the following:
    • Add the above mentioned line
    • Restart ue_01 daemon and pc server
    • Save affected BIB record again on server
    • Check whether it matches correctly now

Please note that this change will be valid from then on for all indexing records. Check if this is correct for all possible index entries.

If it happens that a comma is added at the end of a field in AUT record also you should add the line also to xxx10/tab/tab_filing, routine 11.
