    Cannot get HOL library authority-controlled field to update

    Problem Symptoms:
    * Our xxx60 library has one authority-controlled field, the 540 tag.

    * Automatic-updating feature doesn't work for the field.

    Cause:
    Indexing discrepancy

    Resolution:
    There's an indexing discrepancy between xxx10 and xxx60. xxx60 doesn't include $$d in the index, and when it is used, the heading usually gets a -chk.

    Consult KB 4100 ("New/updated authority record doesn't generate bib links"), which describes all of the steps necessary in this process.
